Located in the eastern Caribbean Sea, in the West Indies, lies the island nation of Saint Lucia. It borders the Atlantic Ocean on one side. Another name for the island is Iyonola, which the indigenous Caribs gave it. It is situated to the northwest of Barbados, to the north and northeast of the island of Saint Vincent, and to the south of Martinique since it is a part of the Lesser Antilles. With 165,595 people, it has a land area of 617 km³ (238 square miles). Saint Lucia’s capital city at the moment is Castries.
The city’s sole official language is English. Ninety-five percent of people communicate in English.
In terms of religion, Roman Catholics make up about 61.5% of the populace. Protestant denominations make up the remaining 25.5% of the population. These include Baptists (2.2%), Pentecostals (8.9%), Anglicans (1.6%), Church of God (1.5%), Seventh-Day Adventists (10.4%), and other Protestants (0.9%).
