The Morocco long-term visa is divided into several subtypes, such as:

  • Morocco Work Visa, issued to foreigners who find a job in Morocco (a work permit is also needed)
  • Morocco Student Visa, issued to foreigners who want to pursue their studies in a Moroccan educational institution

You also need about four recent photos of yourself. The photo requirements for the Morocco visa are as follows:

  • Photos must be printed on good quality photo paper

Return flight ticket

Another requirement for a Moroccan visa is a round-trip air ticket. You must book or pay for air tickets, scheduled within 90 days (or within the period of your visa being issued).
This involves being able to demonstrate to the visa authority that you intend to return to your country afterwards.
Or, if you do not intend to return to your country of residence, attach airline tickets for the remainder of your trip.

Proof of accommodation

You must also include proof of accommodation in Morocco. This could be a hotel booking or another type of tourist accommodation.
Or, if you plan to stay with your host, attach a notarized invitation letter from them.

Proof of sufficient financial means

You may be required to submit proof you have sufficient financial means to cover the duration of your stay, for example in the form of bank statements.

Travel health insurance

Anyone traveling to Morocco should purchase travel insurance. That said, not all Moroccan representative offices require you to submit proof of travel health insurance to Morocco with your visa application, but they may do like that. Morocco is just one of the countries in the world that requires visitors to purchase travel insurance as part of their visa application.

Morocco visa fee

At the time of application, you also have to pay a visa processing fee. The Morocco visa fees are as follows:

  • For a single entry (up to 90 days): DH220 (appx. $23)

Additionally, if you have a non-regular travel document, your visa may take longer to process, so take this into account.

Receive the Morocco visa

If your application is approved, the visa authority will affix a Moroccan visa label to your passport, allowing you to travel to Morocco.
If you apply in person, you must obtain a passport. If you apply by mail, the Moroccan embassy/consulate will return your passport to you by mail.

How to Apply for a Morocco Visa if There is no Moroccan Diplomatic Representation in Your Country?

If there is no Moroccan embassy or consulate where you live, you should check whether the Moroccan government assigns visa applications to another diplomatic mission in your country or to another diplomatic mission in your country.

If this also does not apply, you may have to apply directly to the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Rabat.

In this case, you can apply by post and if your visa is approved, you can pick it up at the airport.

Can I Apply for a Morocco Visa On Arrival?

No you can not. Morocco does not require a visa upon arrival. All visas to Morocco must be obtained before your trip, unless you are exempt from visa requirements. Only visa-exempt citizens can travel without first applying for a Moroccan visa.

How Long is a Morocco Visa Valid For?

A visa for Morocco is valid for a maximum of 90 days and can be issued for a single entry or multiple entries.

A Moroccan tourist visa and a long-term visa have the same validity, but a long-term visa allows its holder to apply for a residence card after entering Morocco, unlike a tourist visa. If you do not extend your stay and fail to obtain a residence permit, you must leave after three months, even if you have a long-term visa.

Can I Extend a Morocco Visa?

If you have a Morocco Tourist Visa which you would like to extend beyond 90 days, you must request a Visa Extension at the nearest Police Precinct in Morocco.
